 My name is Chris White, and I  am a junior double majoring in  Agricultural Business and  Economics. This summer, I have  had the amazing opportunity to  intern with Central Texas  Specialty Growers, which is right  outside of Austin, Texas.

The AgEI program strives to provide programming to students that allow them to gain necessary skills and experiences related to entrepreneurship. The fall lineup is full of exciting opportunities that allow students to get involved with our program!

Ames, Iowa – August 10, 2016 – The Agricultural Entrepreneurship Initiative at Iowa State University is hosting an event that will challenge participants to collaborate in creating new ideas that change the way we think about, manage, and use water in our state.

(Ames, Iowa – April 5, 2016) – The Iowa State University Agricultural Entrepreneurship Initiative (AgEI) hosted their annual Spring Entrepreneur Roundtable at the Iowa State University Memorial Union Cardinal Room on Thursday, April 31st. During the event, students talked firsthand with entrepreneurs about the opportunities, as well as the difficulties, of starting a business.

AMES, Iowa – Iowa State University alumnus Ryan Augustine was recently awarded the Farm Bureau Entrepreneur of the Year award for his startup business, AccuGrain. AccuGrain competed against three national finalists for the title Jan. 11-13 in Orlando, Florida, at the American Farm Bureau Federation Annual Convention.  

This is the second year in a row the honor has been given to an Iowa State College of Agriculture and Life Sciences alumnus and participant in the Agricultural Entrepreneurship Initiative (AgEI) program.  

(Ames, Iowa – September 17, 2015) – The Iowa State University Agricultural Entrepreneurship Initiative (AgEI) hosted their fourth annual Farmer Entrepreneur Roundtable at the Jeff and Deb Hansen Agricultural Student Learning Center on September 10. The event was sponsored by the Iowa Farm Bureau Federation. During the event, students talked firsthand with farmers about the opportunities, as well as the difficulties, of entering the farming industry.
