Matt Stenzel

Feature Story

Three years into his undergradMatt Stenzeluate degree at Iowa State University and Matt Stenzel, a junior in agricultural business and economics, can't imagine being anywhere else. Stenzel, a member of FarmHouse Fraternity, has made the most of his time at Iowa State, serving on Student Government, working as a peer mentor, and participating in AMMO.

Despite his busy schedule, Stenzel has found time to participate in AgEI programs. "Initially, it [AgEI] was just a great way to meet other students during freshman year. Since then, I've enjoyed growing professionally and personally by interacting with entrepreneurs and other students," explains Stenzel.

This year, he is serving on on the AgEI Student Leadership Team. As a team member, he helps organize events and promote AgEI programs to students in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences. "I love going to club fairs and telling students about AgEI and all the awesome opportunities it provides," he exclaims.

Stenzel's favorite AgEI memories are the holiday celebrations and more casual events. "They are always my favorite because you still have all these creative minds together, but it's a much more relaxed setting and just a great way to build relationships with some awesome people," shares Stenzel.

Stenzel spent the summer of 2017 in Ames, working as a marketing intern for the ISU Research Park. This past summer, he ventured to Fargo, North Dakota, where he was a commodity merchandising intern for ADM. Grad school may be an option in the future, but for now, Stenzel is enjoying making the most of his time as an Iowa State Cyclone.

We wish him the best of luck on his future endeavors!
