Growing up on a diversified row crop and livestock operation near Riceville, Iowa, Izak Christensen is the youngest of three children to attend Iowa State University. A senior at Iowa State University, Izak will graduate with a degree in agricultural business and agronomy, and his MBA.
Izak has known about AgEI since before coming to Iowa State, as both of his older siblings were involved in the program during their college years. He has been involved since freshman year and now serves as a co-chair on the AgEI Student Leadership Team.
On top of his involvement in AgEI, Izak is also very involved on campus through a variety of different organizations. He has been a member of the National Agri-Marketing Association Competition Team, a peer mentor and teaching assistant in the Department of Economics, a member of the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences Dean’s Student Advisory Committee, a graduate assistant in the Department of Finance and Accounting, as well as holding executive leadership positions in the Agricultural Business Club, CALS Council, Iowa State Master of Business Administration Association, and Student Alumni Leadership Council. Izak has had several summer internship experiences over the past four years, with his last internship position being the Procurement Intern at Renewable Energy Group.
In his free time, Izak can be found golfing, traveling, or driving his Harley Davidson motorcycle around Ames. He brings a positive attitude to our office and is always coming up with new ideas. When asked his favorite part of AgEI, Izak responded “AgEI has been one of the highlights of my experience at Iowa State. The program provides opportunities to develop multiple skills and the chance to interact with industry leaders.”
