A Part-time Summer Incubator Program to Keep Your Business Moving Forward

Have an intriguing new rural business or farm idea? Think your idea could positively impact rural communities? Seeking mentorship as you develop your business?

If you answered "Yes" to any of these questions, the Rural Entrepreneurship Academy may be the perfect fit for you this summer!

                                               

This part-time summer program assists students who aspire to open a business or farm in a rural location. It specifically targets students that have another internship or work on their family farm during the summer.

As a participant, you will receive a structured program and mentoring support for developing your own business or farm idea, monthly honorarium payments based on engagement and hitting milestones, and financial support for travel to a short job shadow or internship experience with a business or farm that creates learning for development of your own business or firm.

Rural Entrepreneurship Academy requirements include the following of participants:

  • A new business or farm idea that will operate in and/or impact rural location(s)
  • The ability to dedicate 5 to 10 hours per week between mid-May to mid-August to developing the business idea
  • The ability to participate in a weekly progress call with mentor, Kevin Kimle
  • The ability to travel for one week for a job shadow/internship experience that will enhance your capacity to start and succeed in your business or farm [optional]
