The Agricultural Entrepreneurship Initiative is hosting an open community creative event that will join students, industry experts, scientists, entrepreneurs, and YOU to collaborate and co-create new ideas that change the way we think about, manage, and use water in our state.

Here’s what you will experience:
Start with a kick-off event on Thursday, September 1st for refreshments and fun as we hear the latest from a panel of industry experts, scientists, and entrepreneurs on the latest ideas in the scientific, management, and technological innovations that impact water quality in Iowa.  Participants will then join in a collective brain storming session to generate new seed ideas and network with each other to form concept teams.

The event continues on Friday, September 2nd for a day of brainstorming and collaboration to generate forward-looking new business concepts to your seed ideas that bring them to life and explore their commercialization potential.  We will take a Design Thinking approach to developing concepts that will highlight the technology or solutions you envision and the customers that will benefit from them. During the conclusion of the event, teams will pitch concepts to a panel of experts and investors for prizes. Who knows, your idea may spark the beginnings of a new business idea that you and your team pursue.

Featured Facilitator
The brainstorming sessions will be hosted by Dr. Jeffrey Stamp, a professional creative and concept designer who was the inventor of the Frito-Lay Baked! Lays® Potato Crisps.  Dr. Stamp is a native of Sheldon, Iowa and leads creative innovation sessions worldwide for corporations, universities, and start-ups. Not only will you get to learn skills and techniques for creating ideas but you will also gain entrepreneurial mindset skills that you can use daily.
